I actually prefer driving ou into the country. I pick a country road and drive until it dead ends, then I pick another direction. In central Illinois you really can't get lost, but there are some amazing dead trees, falling down barns and great old cemeteries to see.

The happiest moment I've ever had at work (it almost brought me to tears) was seeing all the kids' excitement for science and ocean stewardship that day at Waimea Bay on the North Shore of Oahu. It's been incredible going to classrooms for the past few years and teaching things I'm passionate about.

I adore spending time alone, but my housemate can't stand it. I like to sit on the swings in the park near my house and chill out. I get some strange looks from familys, but it relaxes me.

You're right, over-thinking and perfectionism. I'm okay with failure though, I think it's success that I've feared most. For me, being fearless means letting my light shine and accepting the accolades when I hit that home run, as well as taking responsibility for the strikes.

That's been tough for me, so this time I don't plan to "try to be more confident" or "be more outgoing" or any other wimpy goal. I'm just going for it, swinging for the fences.

Ooh, ultimate home run? A young adult book that's a huge bestseller and that gets JK Rowling's attention so that I can realize my dream of having lunch with her!

Or, my own TV show. I'll take either.

I sound like Gary V in Crush It, who does everything with the goal of owning the Jets. If I do everything based on meeting JK... am I nuts, or is that a good strategy? :)

Tammy, this is the exact post I've been looking for (but didn't know it). As a father of 2 VERY young girls, my wife and I have discussed how we'd like to educate our girls while still traveling. It looks like these lists of sites are just what we need.

Tammy, seems like you could be over thinking things. Becoming fearless means being okay with failure. If you realize you will fail about 50 to 80% of the time, everything will be all right. It is just how quickly it takes your to pick yourself back up.
